Round 1

Who didn't enjoy that?
I feel asleep before the start of play -pathetic i know, but i do get up bloody early every day!- and woke to see 3/94 with Hilfenhaus wrapping KP on the pads for a big appeal.
Johnson's following over looked the goods too.

Seeing the wickets (good catch Huss!) and Bopara get the ball to the throat bodes well for a bat in the last session; especially if Collingwood keeps pulling with his eyes closed!

Hauritz in and England with 2 spinners: so everyone thinks it's a bunsen, you better get wickets Haury!

back to you Stuey, MO and Damo.

  1. Thank goodness Mikey H is on the pommy commentary team.

the pop-up field plan is a good initiative.

  2. looks like i got up for the slowest passage of play! D'oh!

at that time, Haury was bowling a good line and length, but was getting very little turn off the wicket... maybe that will be his career sub heading! Lucky to have KP by all accounts too!

good sharing by the bowlers; glad Hilf and Hey-Diddle got a couple each.

Strewth, listening to Mike Atherton was like slow extraction of a big toe nail! I hope C4 keep Beefy and Cool Mike on the air more, with the occassion quick one off the wrist from Hussain- before he buggers off to practice his golf swing!

  3. It seems Australia's inability to remove tailenders is again going to haunt us. It was Day 3 of the Boxing Day test all over again.....for an hour anyway. Why can our bowlers not get it into their heads that bunnies LOVE half volleys, legside crap and anything full? LINE & LENGTH. Make them play an actual shot. Hauritz walks in with the only scoring opportunities down leg side or over the top and what does he bowl.....a rank half tracker down leg side!! Hilf dished up some very flavoursome pies right in the hitting zone for Broad and although he struck them well I reckon I could have despatched them to the rope.
Thank you Punter and Kats for bailing us out of what should have been 350 max.
I have to tell you watching Stewey McGill host the pre-match show is downright embarrassing. He smiles like he just raped a 12 year old child and has her body parts stashed in his freezer. Advanced hair should have been the host at least he looks comfortable in front of the camera. What do you think mate?

that is the funniest thing i have seen written here! POTD!

Yeah, i'm inclined to agree, Damo is more wooden than the Hedgehog on viagra! Mo is the most natural (apart from his hair, obviously- though it looks good).

great knocks from Kat and Punter, i also love the fact Strauss persisted with spin against Clarke- one of the worlds best players of spin!

Huss, you have the next innings (unless we make 800+!) to get a 50+ or i am starting a petition to CA to get you dropped! having team mates say, "Huss is just around the corner from a big score," just doesn't cut it; and is not acceptable an excuse/reason to hold onto him. The fact that he can make scores at a first class level, and not in a test very obviously shows the level his game is now at; i don't want him to go, but i don't want to see another Hayden debacle.

    stoph
    down the wicket
