DTW dream team comp for Ashes anyone?

look, i know it is just soooo contrived, and we have done best teams before. but i've just watched abc dvd's cricket in the 60's and i'm half way through the "Chappel era' and i thought it might be fun to hear what your favourite (not best) player is in each position.

set your own standards: mine are world cricketers, as i just love the game more than nationality.

opening batsmen should be a pair, i think...but you can create your own.

for me:
Greenidge/Haynes
as a kid, i always felt we were not even close o the job being underway when they were out..
very close 2nd Langer/Hayden

i got the email yesterday, we can go with the same set up as the Ashes.

clearly we are no mugs in the fantasy team leagues: our league is in the top half of the field- although some of us are dragging down the average- I'm looking at you Gab and the Clams; not as good as the indoor version to be sure!

I'd just like to say how personally proud i am of the Tallywackers coming up from 5th to take the top of the ladder position! GO T'wackers!

Ashes on steriods!

Does anyone have an interest in putting up options for the greatest Ashes test teams; meaning select 22 (24) players from Australia and England to play the greatest Ashes test match.

I don't care if it is because of a players total record against the other side, a series record or a test; you choose and justify it.

I've got 2 (without research) one is glaringly obvious, i think my second pick gets in because of his Centenary Test innings.

a captains knock

With the negative cricket vibe at the moment, i think it is time for another fantasy team.
Although all these things are contrived i though the new perameter will be:

Create a (all era's) team, consisting only of national captains!
These can be full time captains or a player that has even for just one game captained their country; any cricket format is acceptable.
