Have tried several times to post a comment to no success. NTL, good luck on the new ventures but thanks for the efforts in putting DTW out. I can attest to the work involved. Personal thanks for providing a forum when my own site was still an infant. In particular, thanks for the directness of the writing and not leaving anything in the shed. Cheers and good luck.

I would definitely want to see the South Africans in Perth if everyone is up to it. We should be able to get flights cheap enough if we book early enough. Same with accommodation.

For me DTW started with being told by Sledgie that he'd promised a mate of his I'd contribute to a cricket blog; so I'd better not make him a liar!
From there I've been to the MCG twice, you boys have made it to Adelaide and we've all been up to Sydney.
We clearly don't need the blog for our trips but I've noticed interest wane a bit with the blog generally for all of us. It's sometimes difficult to ascertain why these sorts of thngs happen but I think some of the reason is found in this post of yours.
Personally I'd be making a promise I couldn't keep if I put my hand up to take on running this monster! I guess with FB we've got a forum to stay connected and talk cricket, life, pay each other out and organise cricket trips.
Keen to hear the others' thoughts on this too.

Although it is a great effort to be 3-0 in the series one cannot help but ponder the troublesome batting collapses that seem to plague Australia's innings'.

Put a 300 plus total for India in the equation and our 0-213 to be all out for 369 is terrible. Too many groups of wickets fall. Partnerships forge big scores and we put together too few.

For me 5-69 to be bowled out for 369 is the same as what we produced in Perth. If not for the ineptitude of India we would have been exposed as we were last year against England, whom I have just learned have just been smacked by Pakistan.

Get rid of Marsh and Haddin. Inject Kawaja and Wade and move on.

But to counter what Nospams said above...the 3 indian batsmen have made a living out of scoring runs in every condition presented...its just the first test mate...wait and watch...it takes time to adjust to diff conditions...adaptability is a virtue...which ponting has not been able to show on turning wickets for last 10 years

Well written mate. For me this test highlighted a few things.

1. Our bowling stocks are better than our batting stocks. While the pitch offered a bit for the bowlers, it was only for the disciplined. It wasn't like the ball was nagging back from way outside off, or starting low.

2. Haddin grassed a catch every keeper worth his salt should have comfortable gloved and reinforced my opinion that Australia need to pick the best keeper. Not the best batsman who can keep.

3. India's best three batsmen (Sachin, Dravid & Laxman) have become flat track bullies. Apologies to Sachin but he was lucky in the first dig with a few rash shots that could easily have gone to hand.

4. I will say, hand over heart that I was wrong about one Michael Clarke. His captaincy has been so refreshing. Field settings and bowling changes have created pressure and chances. Gone are the days of watching the Aussies labour through a day with bowling changes set to a metronome. Sometimes to win a test you have to be prepared to lose it, and he is.

5. I CAN'T WAIT FOR SYDNEY!!

i would only structure it for the 3rd session, at half price. i think this then prevents the after lunch crowd, but fill the seats that are being vacated by the 'go home early mob' -they were streaming out of the ground when we got there- but allows the 'after work watchers' an incentive.

i did actually make the point of telling the teller that i know it wasn't her stupid system.
regardless, we enjoyed what we saw.

It's commercialism gone mad. There is no opportunity for discretion when it comes to the actual teller either.

In their defence they are also trying to protect against everyone turning up after lunch etc. and having no one there early.
